This role will encompass supporting Lids and JD Sports, the ideal candidate would live in a major metro area such as Indianapolis, Chicago, Philadelphia, etc. with an easy commute to the Lids Indianapolis corporate office.
The Senior Manager of Sales is about total business management, responsible for developing and advancing Mitchell & Ness’ partnerships using data, category insights and research coupled with an enthusiasm and passion for our brands mission. You will bring a data driven, storytelling approach to understanding opportunities, strengths and objectives of the customer. Excellent relationship management skills are required in addition to an analytical and strategic approach. Previous successful account management experience is critical to effective job performance. The ideal candidate will understand revenue and marketplace management, merchandising, promotion development, complexities of the supply chain and utilize the appropriate techniques/skills to gain the customer support for new solutions and opportunities. The number one goal for the sales team is to build and further our strategic partnerships and collaborate with retail and internal partners create the future marketplace to deliver against business results.
Responsibilities
- Drive new business growth by selling solutions to our largest business partners – key accounts.
- Research and understand the customer’s business goals, objectives, and challenges
- Implement channel specific strategies that maintain alignment with corporate strategy and goals
- Lead and motivate team to achieve quarterly/annual revenue targets
- Run monthly Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s)
- Run internal sales and operations update meetings internally with all proper stakeholders
- Ability to communicate recommendations effectively to the appropriate level of leadership within retailer leadership team
- Propose solutions to deliver quantifiable business value through an integrated relationship
- Work closely with sales operations team to analyze market POS trends.
- Drive sales programs with proper stakeholders to maximize market/category trends
- Communicate accurate and timely forecasts to multiple layers of leadership both internally and externally
- Preparation of and execution to sales plans, events, campaigns
- Deliver strong performance against required sales/revenue targets
- Manage a small team that handles consumer insight reporting, operational sales support and is a direct liaison across partners internally and externally.
- Knowledge and/or passion for sports
- Ability to travel up to 35%
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sports Management, Fashion Merchandising, or other related field from an accredited 4-year college; and/or equivalent to 8-10 years of sales experience in the wholesale apparel industry.
- Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships that resulted in sales growth
- Must be able to maintain effective internal relationships to facilitate sales
- Proven track record of developing & implementing market growth strategies
- Influential leader and proven people manager with a focus on developing strong successors
- Demonstrated passion for professional or college sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, etc)
- Strong strategic selling skills
- Strong analytical skills to be able to understand and interpret account financials
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Intermediate computer skills to include Excel and Word
$95,000 - $132,000 a year
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $132,000 which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
