Reporting to the Operations Leader, the Automation Manager will be responsible for developing and executing an automation strategy and agenda. Looking for ways to automate manual procedures or to explore Artificial intelligence avenues that will have a benefit in labor cost or other operative costs. This role is expected to learn and understand the trading card manufacturing process and how through AI and automation we can increase the consumer experience.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct complex automation and AI project activities with large scale or significant business impact with the accountability for success.
- Responsible for oversight of vendor selection including RFQs bid selection materials management, invoice and approval.
- Reviews and approves cost estimations, sets up check and balance system.
- Integrates automation and AI implementation team into planning and design review.
- Explore avenues for process solving through Artificial Intelligence solutions.
- Running workshops or side-by-sides to understand end to end processes, identifying automation blocker and suitability of the process for automation.
- Think BIG and define an automation strategy, being creative with out of the box solutions.
- Understanding the risks, assumptions, and dependencies associated with the process.
- Presenting summaries of findings to leaders, technology partners, and clients, walking them through to be designs of automated processes.
- Requirement gathering / delivery: work closely with development team to ensure requirements are accurately mapped and suitable for development.
- Track progress daily or weekly as appropriate, provide updates for sprint reviews and in progress demonstrations to leadership.
- Be able to calculate automation % and FTE benefit and build effort estimates for all processes.
- Ensure that prioritization considers expected benefit as well as effort & feasibility.
- Evaluate additional tools, best practices, and provide recommendations for additions or changes.
Education, Experience, and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience in project management, application of lean six sigma, Lean or Business Analysis.
- Master’s degree preferred in Business, Operations, Engineer or Technology.
- 3-5 years of experience in large project deployments, such as Six sigma/lean projects, technology implementations or leading corporate change management initiatives
- Desirable experience with Artificial Intelligence projects/development.
- Minimum 5 years of operations experience with 2 years of supervisor experience.
- Preferred certifications: Project management professional (PMP), Six sigma black belt, Scrum master (CSM).
- English language domain, recommendable Spanish preferred
- Multifunctional teams’ coordination
- Strategic thinking mindset and experience developing project roadmaps
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates analytical skills
- Working knowledge of process efficiency tools such as Process automation (RPA’s), Macros or VBA
- Experience with project management tools (Microsoft VSTS)
- Ability to build strong customer relationships with all levels of an organization and outside of the company.
- Ability to lead others, with and without direct authority.
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a project or operational team.
- Focused on results, skills in project management.
- Ability to work under pressure: Planning for delivery according to business requirements
- Self-driven to excel and seek out opportunities and build visibility
- Detailed oriented with excellent follow up practices
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in an administrative office setting.
- Must be flexible and available to work extended hours when necessary.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
